Chandigarh-In a statement issued today, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, a former minister, addressed the rumors circulating on various web channels and among several leaders suggesting that he might join the Shiromani Akali Dal led by Sukhbir Singh Badal. He emphasized that this news is completely unfounded and defamatory.
Parminder expressed that his father, Sardar Sukhdev Singh Ji Dhindsa Sahib, had one dream: to see the Shiromani Akali Dal remain strong. However, he also noted that the party could never be strong under Sukhbir Singh Badal's leadership. He affirmed his commitment to strengthening the Shiromani Akali Dal to fulfill his father's vision, stating firmly that he has no intention of aligning with Sukhbir Singh Badal.
He highlighted that Sukhbir Singh Badal had gone to Sri Akal Takht Sahib to seek forgiveness for violating a Hukamnama issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. By disregarding this Hukamnama, he has shown disobedience to the Guru, leading to significant resentment among Shiromani Akali Dal workers. Parminder stressed that no true Sikh would even consider violating a Hukamnama.
Additionally, he noted that the five-member recruitment committee is diligently working, with God's grace, to strengthen the Shiromani Akali Dal through new recruitment. Parminder dedicated himself to supporting the committee's efforts, working tirelessly alongside his colleagues from the Dhindsa camp, and he promised to leave no stone unturned in assisting them. He confidently stated that the Shiromani Akali Dal will emerge stronger.
