RSS-BJP against constitution, reservations: Warring

Kaumimarg Bureau | June 14, 2025 07:36 PM

SHAM CHAURASI - Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today alleged that the RSS and the BJP had never accepted the constitution of the country as they were always against it and also against the reservations.
Addressing the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Rally’ organized by former MLA Pawan Adhia, here today, Warring said that it was because of the Congress that the constitution and the reservations had been saved and protected. “Otherwise, the BJP would have gone ahead with its intentions of changing the constitution”, he claimed, while pointing out, the party was seeking 400+ parliamentary seats only with this purpose.
The PCC president said, thanks to the nationwide campaign launched by the Congress and an aggressive defence put up by Rahul Gandhi, the BJP was reduced to just 240 seats and the constitution was saved. “Not only that, for the first time in ten years, Narendra Modi had been forced to bow before the constitution”, he pointed out.
Warring cautioned against the BJP’s designs of doing away with the reservations. He maintained that the BJP government at the centre was deliberately not filling up the vacancies in government departments, as it did not want to provide reservation benefits to the reserved categories like the Dalits and the OBCs.
The PCC president alleged that the AAP government in Punjab was also following into the footsteps of the BJP by trying to muzzle the voice of people. He pointed out how Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa was slapped with an FIR just for referring to the frequent hand grenade attacks and apprehension of more such attacks.
He also referred to how the peacefully agitating farmers, who were only seeking MSP for their crops were forcibly removed and badly beaten up.
Referring to the ‘anti-drug’ campaign of the Punjab government, he said, drugs cannot be finished within one and a half months. He said, no government can do that as it is a long process.
He condemned the brutal use of force by the AAP government by demolishing the houses of the drug addicts and petty peddlers saying it was not a solution. He asked, what is the fault of the parents if their child has become an addict and why to demolish their houses.
Warring suggested that while strict measures have to be taken against the suppliers and peddlers, the youth also need to be provided jobs and employment to wean them away from drugs.
Leader of Opposition in the Punjab assembly Partap Singh Bajwa also spoke on the occasion.
Among those present on the occasion included PCC general secretary organization Capt Sandeep Sandhu, former minister Sangat Singh Gilzian, DCC president Micky Dogra, former MLA Pawan Adhia and others.
