Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann News | Punjab, Sep 29: In a major relief for farmers of flood-affected districts, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant  Singh Mann has announced financial assistance of Rs 7200 per acre for the de-silting of
sand deposited on agricultural land due to floods.

This initiative, launched under the scheme ‘Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret’ (Whose Field, His Sand), aims to help farmers reclaim their
fertile fields and restart cultivation without additional burden.

The announcement was made by CM Bhagwant Mann during his address to farmers in the worst-affected regions. He said, “Our farmers are the backbone of Punjab’s economy. These floods have left behind massive deposits of sand in farmlands, making it difficult for
cultivation. The government will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with every farmer. Under the ‘Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret’ scheme, farmers will get Rs 7200 per acre to clear their fields.”

Why This Matters? Farmers in Punjab’s flood-hit areas, especially in districts along river
belts, have been facing severe challenges. Large patches of farmland were rendered
unusable due to sand deposits after heavy flooding.

Without financial aid, it would have
been nearly impossible for many small farmers to bear the cost of de-silting.
The new scheme ensures that farmers can restore their fields quickly, preventing
long-term damage to Punjab’s agricultural output. Experts believe this timely assistance
will also help stabilize the rural economy and give farmers renewed hope ahead of the
sowing season.

Voices From The Ground: Many farmers expressed gratitude for the initiative. Surjit Singh,
a farmer from Ropar, said, “We were worried about how we would manage to remove so
much sand. With this scheme, we can now clear our land and prepare for the next crop.
This support means a lot for our families.”

Social Media Response: The announcement gained traction across social media platforms
like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Farmers’ unions and citizen
groups welcomed the scheme, sharing posts under hashtags like #PunjabFarmers,
#BhagwantMann, and #JisdaKhetUsdiRet.

Many users praised the CM for taking a
people-first approach and acting quickly to support Punjab’s agricultural backbone.
Looking Ahead: Officials have confirmed that the disbursement process will be swift and
transparent, ensuring that the aid reaches farmers without delay.

The Punjab government
has also directed district administrations to identify the worst-hit areas and start rolling out
the funds immediately.

Conclusion: The ‘Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret’ scheme is not just about financial relief, but about
restoring faith among Punjab’s farmers. CM Bhagwant Mann’s announcement of Rs 7200
per acre showcases the government’s commitment to stand by its people in times of crisis,
ensuring that the fields of Punjab continue to remain green and productive
