Chandigarh- Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that Labourer Sh. Panna Lal was a r/o Kotkapura who died due to an accident while doing construction work and he was a registered beneficiary of the Labour department Punjab. Speaker handed over an assistance amount of rupees four lakh to the deceased family.
Of course, no one can pay the price of human life, but masons, carpenters, blacksmiths, brick kiln workers, marble-tile fitters, plumbers, electricians, painters, POP workers, small and landless farmers and other labourers who do construction-related work can become beneficiaries after the registration in labour department and take the benefit of this scheme which is being run by the Labour Department, Punjab.
Speaker said that any person between the age of 18 to 60 years can register himself/herself as a beneficiary under this scheme. For registration, camps are being organized in all the villages of the Kotkapura. The schedule of it will be shared soon.
The beneficiary can also avail the benefit of scholarship scheme being run for the education of children, Shagun scheme, maternity benefit scheme, Balri gift scheme in case of two girls, Rs. 2 lakh to 4 lakh ex-gratia scheme in case of death of the beneficiary, Rs. 20, 000 as assistance for cremation, fixed amount scheme for general surgery, skill development scheme and many other schemes.
