AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has decided to convene a special meeting of Sikh scholars and senior Advocates at Gurdwara Kalgidhar in Chandigarh on November 25 to draw up the next strategy under the efforts being made by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for the release of the captive Singhs.

This decision was taken in the SGPC executive Committee meeting of the internal committee held under the presidentship here today.

While talking to media persons after the meeting, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the Shiromani Committee is raising its voice at all levels against the violation of human rights and injustice being done by the government towards the Sikh prisoners in the case of the Bandi Singhs.

Recently, a delegation of the Shiromani Committee had raised the voice of 26 lakh people to the Governor of Punjab and now a meeting of Sikh scholars and senior lawyers will be called at Chandigarh on 25 November 2023 to draw up the next strategy. The future program will be announced later by calling a special meeting of Sikh organizations to consider the suggestions received during this gathering of intellectuals.

He also said that the Shiromani Committee delegation will also go soon to meet Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana detained in Patiala Jail.

The SGPC president said that the executive committee has took a strong notice of not making a solid policy for the ongoing votes of the Shiromani Committee.

He said that the government is not serious about casting votes for the general elections of the Sikh organization, due to which very few votes have been cast so far.

He said that the main reason for this is the government's interference in this matter..
He said that by passing a resolution in today's executive committee meeting, the Chief Commissioner of Gurdwara Elections was requested to issue strict instructions to the polling officials using their rights so that they do not cause trouble to the people.

Advocate Dhami said that the method of vote verification should be simplified, so that people can collect and submit the filled forms at one place. Along with this, camps should also be organized to register every Sikh as a voter for the Shiromani Committee.

He said that it is the duty of the government to make special efforts to motivate the voters to vote, as is done during Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.

Advocate Dhami also condemned the anti-decency movements during a program organized near Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib Pakistan.

He said that this phenomenon is not right to take action against Sikh sentiments near Guru Ghar.
He said that regarding this, the Shiromani Committee is writing a letter to the Foreign Minister of India and the concerned Ministry of the Government of Pakistan and the Okaf Board.

By passing a special resolution, the internal committee has also strongly condemned the hate propaganda being done against Sikhs and Sikh organizations on social media. According to Advocate Dhami, through this resolution, it has been decided to take legal action on X (Twitter) regarding a fake parody account created in the name of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Shiromani Committee President said that the image of Shiromani Committee is being destroyed through this fake account and despite its complaint, X (Twitter) did not close the account, but justified it under its policy. Now legal action will be taken against this fake account and X (Twitter).
Issues related to Gurdwara Sahibs, Trusts and educational institutions were also discussed during the meeting of the Inter-Committee.
