Haryana caps Covid-19 test rate at Rs 2,400

Chandigarh,  The Haryana government on Friday decided to lower the rates of Covid-19 test samples to Rs 2,400, down from the current Rs 4,500, an official said.

The decision, which came into effect on Friday itself, was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Haryana Schools to reopen after August 15, only final year students to appear in college exams- Chief Minister

The ministry of human resource development, MHRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal recently announced that schools and colleges would be allowed to re-open after August 15 in a phased manner. After this Haryana’s chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar following the guidelines announced the same for Haryana schools too. Now the schools in the state would reopen in the second half of August. Also as per his announcement, the colleges would only conduct exams for the last semester students.

Haryana school board to declare Class 10 result on Monday

Chandigarh,  Haryana Board of School Education will declare results of Class 10 examination on Monday, officials said.

"Haryana Board of School Education will declare results of 338,096 candidates, who appeared for the secondary examination, on June 8," a Board spokesperson said.

Out of 338,096 secondary students, 186,153 are boys and 151,943 are girls. The exam for science subject could not be conducted as the coronavirus lockdown was imposed.

Haryana to have NABL labs in all districts

Chandigarh,  Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has accorded an approval to a proposal for setting up a centralized testing facility accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in every district, the government said on Sunday.

This will ensure that all tests related to agriculture, food, soil, environment, health, water, etc, can be carried out under one roof.

Haryana allows reopening of religious places, except in Gurugram

Chandigarh, The Haryana government on Saturday decided to allow the reopening of religious places, places of worship for the public and shopping malls in a regulated and restricted manner across the state with effect from June 8, except in Gurugram and Faridabad districts in view of large number of positive case.

Apart from this, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services will be reopened with generic preventive measures across the state.

Haryana to start school teaching in July

Chandigarh,  Haryana has decided to start teaching in schools in July and in colleges and universities in August, state Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar said.

"We will reopen schools in a phased manner by starting teaching work for Classes 10, 11 and 12 from July 1, for Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX after 15 days and for the primary classes in August," he said.

"The classes will be held in shifts so that half the students of a class attend the first shift and the rest come in the second. We are yet to decide on the timings of the shifts," he added.

Haryana allows sports training, related activities

Chandigarh, The Haryana government on Wednesday said it has allowed sports training and other related activities in sports complexes and stadiums.

A spokesman for the Sports and Youth Affairs department said the athletes will be allowed to practice from 5 a.m. till 9 p.m.

Punjab, Haryana ease curbs to revive economy

Chandigarh, While curbs were eased in Punjab and Haryana on Monday with an eye on revival of economy, small retailers and businessmen expressed anguish over fall in revenue due to lockdown.

14-day quarantine must for foreign returnees in Haryana

Chandigarh,  The Haryana government has directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure that international travellers arriving in the state will remain in institutional quarantine for the first seven days and then home quarantine for the next similar days.

Giving details, an official spokesperson said if there is no adequate home quarantine facility, the Deputy Commissioner concerned, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer, may retain that passenger for seven days more at the institutional quarantine facility.

Haryana firm, 3 directors booked over Rs 100 cr loss to SBI

New Delhi, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), here on Wednesday, said it had registered a fresh case against Haryana-based Shakti Basmati Rice and its three directors for allegedly causing over Rs 100 crore loss to the State Bank of India (SBI).

The CBI said case was registered on the complaint received from the SBI against Shakti Basmati Rice its directors Shyam Lal, Praveen Kumar and Suresh Kumar, and also some unknown public servants.

25 new Covid-19 cases in Punjab, 43 in Haryana

Chandigarh, Twenty-five Covid-19 cases were reported in Punjab on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 2,106.

There are 148 active cases in the state, the health bulletin said.

Neighbouring Haryana reported 43 cases, taking the state's tally to 1,256.

2.90 lakh migrants sent to home states from Haryana

Chandigarh, A total of 2.90 lakh migrant labourers has been sent to their home states through 77 trains and 5,500 buses from Haryana, an official said on Tuesday.

For this, an expenditure of Rs 10 crore has been incurred, Additional Director General of Police Anil Rao, who is monitoring their transportation, said in a statement.

Chandigarh, After starting intrastate movement, Haryana has now sought the consent of the neighbouring states to restart the interstate bus service, an official said on Tuesday.

The state has written letters to Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Chandigarh for seeking their permission for a to and fro movement of the commuters, a state Transport Department spokesperson said.

Chandigarh, The Haryana government on Monday announced it has allowed government schools to open their offices to carry out administrative functions while ensuring strict compliance of norms for the containment of Covid-19.

COVID-19: Haryana records 7 fresh cases, tally rises to 880


Haryana reported seven fresh cases of the novel Coronavirus on Sunday, taking the tally of confirmed cases to 880.

According to the official Health bulletin, three fresh cases have been reported from Faridabad, two from Kurukshetra and one case each from Sirsa and Mahendergarh districts.

Police cane-charged migrant workers in Haryana's Yamunanagar

Chandigarh, Police in Yamunanagar town in Haryana cane-charged migrant workers on Sunday who were trying to move towards the border of Uttar Pradesh some 20 km from there.

The labourers were seen running back to the shelter. Some of them left their luggage and cycles at the place and ran away.

Officials told IANS that they were allowing only those migrants to cross over to Uttar Pradesh who have been registered and staying at rescue centres set up by the government especially for them.

Haryana to provide potable water to rural households by 2022


New Delhi, Haryana is geared up to provide tap water connection to all rural households by December 2022, ahead of the national goal by 2024-25, a statement said on Wednesday.

The state provided 1.05 lakh tap connections during 2019-20 under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). Now the state is planning 100 per cent coverage by December 2022, a government statement said.
