He was 96 years old. His condition was critical for nearly a fortnight.

Team India reaches Pak to participate in Kabaddi World Cup

Lahore, The Indian kabaddi team has reached Lahore to participate in the Kabaddi World Cup scheduled to start on February 9.

According to reports published in the Pakistani media, a spokesman for the Sports Board said the board officials welcomed the players by presenting them flowers. The Indian team reached Lahore via the Wagah border. The Sports Minister of Punjab Province welcomed the Indian team at the local hotel where it is staying.

Isha Koppikar on getting sexual propositions and nepotism

Mumbai, Isha Koppikar, who is mostly remembered for her dance numbers "Khallas" in Ram Gopal Varma's "Company" and "Ishq samandar" in Sanjay Gupta's "Kaante", has claimed that she received sexual propositions from actors.

Lata Mangeshkar hospitalised after breathing problem

Mumbai, Bollywood playback legend Lata Mangeshkar had to be rushed to Breach Candy Hospital here in the early hours of Monday when she complained of breathing problem. She has been admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit, and her condition is said to be critical.

Sources at the hospital said she was brought at around 1.30 am on Monday, adding that she had developed pneumonia and left ventricular failure.

'Womaniya' song of 'Saand Ki Aankh' celebrates womanhood

Mumbai, The new song "Womaniya", from the upcoming Taapsee Pannu-Bhumi Pednekar starrer "Saand Ki Aankh", is out. In the song, the lead actresses can be seen paying tribute to womanhood with swag.

"Saand Ki Aankh" is based on the lives of India's oldest sharpshooters, Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar, essayed in the film by Taapsee and Bhumi.

Filmed against a village backdrop, the song features younger versions of Bhumi and Taapsee.

The Federation Gold Cup of Volleyball-2019 being held at Guru Nanak Dev University entered it's third day today. Disclosing this, an official spokesperson said that in the matches played today, Kerala defeated Indian Universities team 25-14, 21-25, 25-20 and 25-23 in the Men's category. Kohli becomes fastest batsman to score 11,000 ODI runs

Manchester, India skipper Virat Kohli rose to the challenge on Sunday against Pakistan and added another feather to his cap by becoming the fastest player in the history of the game to cross the 11,000-run mark in ODIs.

Kohli achieved the feat in 222 innings, going past Sachin Tendulkar who took 276 knocks to go past the 11,000-run mark. Ricky Ponting reached the milestone in 286 innings, while Sourav Ganguly took 288 innings to achieve the feat.

Asiad 2018: Indian women lose kabaddi final


Jakarta, The Indian women's kabaddi team had to settle for silver after a narrow loss to Iran in the final at the 2018 Asian Games here on Friday.

The defending champions lost 24-27 in a nail-biting encounter as Iran celebrated its first ever gold medal at the Asiad.

This is the first time the Asiad will see a team other than India win the gold medal. The Indians had won both the previous editions since women's kabaddi was included in the Asian Games programme at Guangzhou 2010.

14 killed in Canada hockey team bus accident

Toronto, At least 14 people have been killed and another 14 injured in a collision involving a junior hockey team's bus in Saskatchewan, Canada, according to the police.

There were 28 people in the vehicle at the time of the accident that took place on Friday when a semi-trailer collided with the bus, reports CBC News. Rescue efforts continued till late evening.
