Kaumimarg Bureau/ Manmohan Singh | October 16, 2026 09:23 PM

Mohali -Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party government is fulfilling its promises to the people one by one. Moving forward from this, the pace of Punjab’s development has been accelerated and welfare-oriented schemes are being implemented on the ground. These views were expressed by MLA Kulwant Singh while addressing with journalists in Mohali.

MLA Kulwant Singh said that property cards are being distributed under the “Mera Ghar Mere Naam” (My Home, In My Name) scheme. Now, residents living in these houses will have the assurance that they are living in homes that legally belong to them. He said that property cards have so far been distributed in 15 villages.
Addressing the gathering during the distribution of property documents to 76 families in village Midde Majra under the scheme, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the initiative would also help end mutual disputes. With formal ownership records in place, no one would be able to take illegal possession of another person’s house. If anyone attempted to encroach upon someone’s property, a complaint could be lodged and legal action would be ensured.
He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, saying that it was due to his far-sighted vision that the scheme could be implemented. He added that formally securing every family’s place in villages was a commendable step in itself.
MLA Kulwant Singh assured the people that the development-oriented work and welfare schemes launched after the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power in 2022 would continue with the same commitment. Responding to questions from journalists, he clarified that the entire process under the scheme was carried out byvPunjab government representatives. Proper surveys were conducted, and beneficiaries did not have to visit courts or any department. The property-related documents were delivered to the owners, and no beneficiary was charged any fee.
MLA also said that 3, 200 sports stadiums have been built across Punjab, while 31 sports grounds are being developed in the Mohali assembly constituency. Several of these have already been completed and handed over to sports enthusiasts. Responding to the demand of the residents of Midde Majra, he assured that a sports ground would soon be developed in the village.
Those present on the occasion included Malkit Kaur, wife of sarpanch Sukhwinder Singh; Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, Tehsildar; Harwinder Singh, Panchayat member; Harpreet Singh, Panch; Satnam Singh, Block President; Sukhwinder Singh, senior AAP leader from Midde Majra; Kuldeep Singh Samana; Deputy Mayor Harpal Singh Channa; Akbinder Singh Gosal, Chairman; Amarjit Singh Sindhu; Satnam Singh Balk; and Jagtar Singh Gudna.
