SAS Nagar-Under the ‘Mera Ghar Mera Mann’ scheme, MLA Mohali Kulwant Singh today distributed Property Ownership Cards to residents whose properties fall within the Lal Dora areas, providing them with documentary proof of their property ownership rights.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the initiative would provide an important legal and documentary record to residents who had earlier faced difficulties in establishing ownership of properties situated within Lal Dora areas. He said that across Punjab, nearly 16, 000 Property Cards were handed over today to residents of 149 villages, while 42 Property Cards were distributed to property owners in Mohali Sub-Division.
He said that the Property Ownership Certificates contain important details for identification of the property and proprietary rights, including geographical coordinates such as longitude and latitude, covered area, constructed area, open area and the survey unit map. These details, he said, would help in maintaining a clear and systematic record of properties.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that in the absence of proper documentary records, property ownership had at times become a source of disputes among families and other stakeholders. The Property Ownership Certificates would provide documentary evidence of ownership and help reduce ambiguity regarding proprietary rights, he added.
He said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has been implementing various welfare-oriented schemes for the benefit of residents. Referring to the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, he said that the scheme provides cashless healthcare coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per family per year at empanelled hospitals.
He also referred to the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dhiyan Satikar Yojana, under which eligible women are provided financial assistance of Rs 1, 000 per month, while eligible Scheduled Caste women receive Rs 1, 500 per month.
The residents who received the Property Ownership Certificates expressed their appreciation for the provision of documentary proof of their property rights and said that the certificates would help them in maintaining clear ownership records.
Among those present on the occasion were SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, Tehsildar Mohali Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, AAP leader Kuldeep Singh Samana and members of the concerned village Panchayats.
