Chandigarh- Modi-led Central Government has provided major relief to the farmers of Punjab ahead of the upcoming Rabi Season 2026-27 by approving a proposal of ₹50.00 crore for providing subsidies on certified wheat seeds. This information was shared by Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab State President Kewal Singh Dhillon.
Kewal Singh Dhillon said that Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan had personally written to him, informing him about the decision. He said that the assistance would be provided under the Seed Component of the National Food Security and Nutrition Mission (NFSNM).
The State President said that the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remains firmly committed to providing all possible assistance and cooperation for improving the economic well-being of Punjab’s farmers, strengthening their livelihoods and ensuring the overall development of the agricultural sector in the state.
Kewal Singh Dhillon, on behalf of the farmers of Punjab, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said that the timely decision would enable farmers to get high-quality wheat seeds at subsidised rates before the sowing of the Rabi season.
