CHANDIGARH-Reiterating the Bhagwant Mann Government’s unwavering commitment to making the state free from gangsterism and drugs, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Saturday said that the Bhagwant Mann government has been pursuing an uncompromising campaign against anti-social elements while simultaneously delivering on its public welfare commitments.
Addressing the media, AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “The Bhagwant Mann Government is fully committed to eradicating gangsterism and drugs from Punjab. Our ‘Gangsters Te Vaar’ campaign has now entered its 164th day, and its impactful and positive results are now visible across the state.”
He said, “During this historic campaign, the Punjab Police has demonstrated remarkable vigilance and achieved major success by arresting 43, 127 gangsters so far.”
Highlighting the government’s people-centric policies, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “The Bhagwant Mann Government has successfully fulfilled all five of its guarantees made to the people. Under the Sanman Yojana for mothers and sisters, honorarium amounts of ₹1, 000 and ₹1, 500 have also started being credited to the bank accounts of women across the state.”
He asserted that the government’s commitment to public welfare goes hand in hand with ensuring the safety and security of Punjab. “Our primary focus remains the security of the state and the future of its youth. The Punjab Police is working with great courage and vigilance, and this battle will continue until problems related to law and order, such as gangsterism and drugs, are completely eradicated from the state, ” he said.
Sharing details of the ongoing crackdown on drug smugglers, Dhaliwal said, “The government’s Yudh Nashean Virudh is also continuing with full force. On the 489th day of this campaign, the Punjab Police demonstrated exceptional vigilance by recovering 2.1 kilograms of heroin and sending 187 drug smugglers behind bars.”
He further said, “Under this campaign, a total of 71, 538 drug smugglers have been arrested so far.”
Issuing a stern warning to criminals, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “No criminal who disturbs Punjab’s peace or plays with the lives of the state’s youth will be spared. The Bhagwant Mann Government will continue taking the strictest possible action against every such element until Punjab becomes completely free from gangsterism and drugs.”
