World leaders extend wishes to PM Modi on becoming India's longest-serving Prime Minister

Abu Dhabi, June 11 (IANS) Leaders from across the world continue to extend wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, congratulating him on becoming India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Thursday congratulated PM Modi on being India's longest serving elected PM and wished him success in leading India and its people towards further civilisational achievements. He expressed confidence that the ties between India and UAE will further strengthen under the comprehensive strategic partnership.

"I congratulate my friend Narendra Modi on the occasion of recording the longest continuous term as an elected head of government in the history of modern India, and I wish him success in leading his country and people towards further civilizational achievements. The UAE-Indian relations have witnessed a qualitative transformation in recent years thanks to joint efforts for the growth and prosperity of our two peoples, and through working together, I am confident that these relations will witness further development in the upcoming phase under the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, " Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan posted on X.

Extending wishes to PM Modi, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon stated that it has been a great pleasure for him to work with PM Modi to deliver the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

"Congratulations Narendra on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. It has been a great pleasure to work with you to deliver the New Zealand-India Free Trade Agreement, and I look forward to all our two countries can do together in the years ahead, " Luxon posted on X.

Taiwan President Lai Ching-te congratulated PM Modi and stated that this milestone depicts the confidence of the Indian people in PM Modi's leadership.

In a statement on X, Lai Ching-te wrote, "Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister in India's history. This milestone reflects the confidence of the Indian people in your leadership. Taiwan will continue to strengthen our partnership with India."

Former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also congratulated PM Modi on exceeding 4, 000 days in office as India's PM and wished him greater success in the future.

In a post on X, Kishida stated, "His Excellency Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Congratulations on exceeding 4, 000 days in office as Prime Minister. I wish you even greater success in the future. I look forward to meeting you again soon. President of the Japan-India Association, Fumio Kishida."
