President SGPC congratulates on first Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Granth Sahib

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Bibi Jagir Kaur has congratulated the Sangat (community) of country and abroad on the occasion of the first Prakash Purb (Enshrinement Day) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. She said the fifth Guru Arjan Dev Ji compiled Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in the year 1604 AD and blessed humanity with holy universal scripture, whose valuable teachings are the guide to human life.

"From the teachings of holy Gurbani (verses of Sri Guru Granth Sahib), a human being gets all kinds of guidance i.e. religious, social, political, scientific, and cosmic. The Gurbani inspires us to live a happy life and also show us the way to fulfill our social responsibilities", said SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur.

SGPC President appealed to the Sangat devoted to the name of Guru Nanak to follow the valuable teachings of Gurbani.

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that on the occasion of the first enshrinement day of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Nagar Kirtan (procession while singing Gurbani) will be decorated and carried out from Gurdwara Sri Ramsar Sahib to Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. The Sangat including the granthi Singhs and other prominent personalities will also be present on this occasion.

She said that a Diwan (religious congregation) will be organised at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall on this occasion, in which, raagis, dhaadis (balladeers), kavishars (poets), pracharaks (preachers) will connect the Sangat to the Gurbani and history.

Bibi Jagir Kaur informed that on the occasion of this Prakash Purb, grandeur (jalau) will be decorated at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib, and in the evening, earthen lamps will be lit along with fireworks.

It is notable that on this auspicious day, a beautiful floral decoration has been done at the complex of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib.
