Chandigarh-The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress leaders for their injustice against the farmers and for their selective activism for their vote banks.
Addressing a press conference from the party office in Chandigarh on Monday, AAP Punjab chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that everyone is aware of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and its culprits. But the BJP's anti-farmers face is exposed once again as they made Farmer murderer's father Ajay Mishra Teni their MP candidate from Lakhimpur Kheri. Kang added that farmers are again protesting for their legitimate demands of MSP and justice in Lakhimpur Kheri incident but instead BJP is making their anti-farmers stand clear by giving ticket to Ajay Kumar Mishra.
Malvinder Kang cornering the BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar said that the hypocrisy of ex-Congressman is laughable. Today he was staging a Dharna in front of the Punjab assembly where Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government is working day and night for our Kisans and Jawans. Kang added that BJP Chandigarh President Jatinder Malhotra said that the farmers don't deserve anything. So maybe Sunil Jakhar should stage a protest in front of his house or in front of BJP's head office for all their atrocities against the farmers.
Kang said that it is unfortunate that Sunil Jakhar didn't say a single word for a poor farmer of Bathinda who was murdered at the Haryana border, he didn't utter a single word against the Haryana government's attitude towards the farmers of Punjab. But, now he's staging a Dharna in front of the Punjab Assembly.
Kang also criticised Congress leaders and said that while being in power these leaders never spoke up for the farmers, they were spending luxurious time with then CM Captain Amarinder Singh and left the farmers to their own at Delhi borders. But now being in opposition suddenly made them sensitive to farmers' issues. Kang said that it is the first time that a government is ready to talk on every issue and address everything but the opposition is running away from discussing public matters.
Kang said that the BJP made our Youth Agniveer, called our farmers Andolanjeevi and under BJP rule no woman in our country is safe as we see crimes committed against them from Manipur to UP. He said that while being in Congress Sunil Jakhar was a critique of the Modi government but after joining the same BJP he changed his colours like a chameleon and now the People of Punjab will not fall for any of his dramas.
