Chandigarh– The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will organize a seminar “Challenges Facing Punjab and their Resolution” on January 27 at Khalsa College, Anandpur Sahib which would be attended by party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and the senior leadership as well as prominent intellectuals and think tanks.

Disclosing this, senior SAD leader Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra said the seminar will focus on how the just demands of Punjab are not being met and are even being actively derailed by centrist forces under a well-planned conspiracy.

Besides discussing the issues of the river waters and the denial of the capital city to Punjab, the seminar will also focus on the weakening of the federal structure and how regional parties alone can work towards strengthening the same.

Prof Chandumajra said “We have invited intellectuals as well as senior journalists to give their views on all these issues as well as the burning issue of misgovernance, breakdown of law and order, flight of capital, unemployment and precarious economic condition of the State.

Simultaneously we will try to come out with a blueprint to take Punjab out of its current mess and put it back on the path of peace and development”.

The SAD leader said prominent intellectuals who would participate in the seminar and give their insights included Prof Ranjit Singh Ghuman, Prof Raunki Ram, and Prof Kuldeep Singh besides senior journalists Satnam Manak and Hamir Singh. He said the SAD president would also deliver the keynote address on the occasion.
