New Delhi-President of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka, and General Secretary Sardar Jagdeep Singh Kahlon have stated that Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib has always stood as a symbol of compassion, humanity, communal harmony, and selfless service. Inspired by the teachings of the Gurus, they said, the Gurudwara has always welcomed people of every faith, caste, and class without discrimination, while continuing its noble tradition of supporting those in need.
Both leaders observed that history bears witness to the fact that the doors of the Gurudwara have remained open to every individual seeking refuge, assistance, and peace. The spirit of seva (selfless service), welfare of all, and human brotherhood embodied by Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib has consistently played a vital role in uniting society. This sacred place remains a source of faith, trust, and inspiration in service for all humanity.
Sardar Kalka and Sardar Kahlon emphasised that, alongside preserving the Gurudwara’s great traditions and its selfless service to humanity, it is the collective responsibility of all to safeguard its sanctity, dignity, and religious reverence. Both asserted that sacred places such as Gurudwara Sahib must never be allowed to become centres of controversy or misleading propaganda.
The dsgmc leaders appealed to the sangat and the public at large not to believe or circulate any negative propaganda or false information being spread about Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib without proper verification. They stressed that it is essential to verify the truth of any information before reacting to it, so that unnecessary misunderstanding and division are not created within society.
They firmly stated that the Gurudwara belongs to all, and protecting its sanctity is a shared duty. “Let us strengthen the great traditions of the Gurudwara, the spirit of service to humanity, and the bonds of mutual brotherhood, and ensure that no false information becomes a tool for creating divisions in society, ” they urged.
