Mohali - Ajaypal Singh Brar, President of the Misl Satluj Party, has appealed to Punjabis to participate in large numbers in the Bandi Singh release march being taken out on October 2 from Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.
In a statement issued here, Sardar Brar said that the Misl Satluj Party would actively participate in the march. He said that the issue of the release of the Bandi Singhs had remained pending for a long time and urged the governments concerned to consider the matter with sensitivity, keeping its legal, constitutional and humanitarian dimensions in view.
He said that the continued detention of Bandi Singhs who had completed their sentences was a serious matter concerning justice and human rights. He added that the primary objective of the march was to draw public and governmental attention to this important issue and create greater public awareness about the demand for their release.
Sardar Brar said that the march would begin at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and conclude at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. Representatives of various Sikh organisations, religious institutions and members of the Sangat are expected to participate in the march.
He further stated that volunteers of the Misl Satluj Party are continuously disseminating information about the march and reaching out to members of the Sangat. He appealed to all punjabis to participate in the march peacefully and in a disciplined manner, thereby strengthening the demand for the release of the Bandi Singhs.
