Hyderabad-Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka said today that he was privileged to attend a special samagam organised by the Telangana sikh zociety to commemorate the completion of 100 years of Central Gurdwara Sahib, Gowliguda, Hyderabad.
Sardar Kalka said that on this occasion, he had the privilege of paying his respects to Singh Sahib Sant Baba Kulwant Singh Ji, Jathedar Takht Sri Abchal Nagar Hazur Sahib, and Baba Balwinder Singh Ji of Langar Sahib, besides meeting and interacting with the sangat. He said the presence of revered saints and spiritual personalities, along with the warmth and affection of the sangat, further enhanced the spiritual significance of this historic celebration.
He said that this historic Gurdwara Sahib at Gowliguda has, for the past 100 years, played a significant role in promoting Sikh teachings, Gurbani, seva and the noble tradition of langar in Hyderabad and Telangana. He said this century-long journey stands as a testimony to the unwavering faith of the sikh sangat in Guru Ghar, its spirit of selfless service and its unity.
Kalka said Gurdwara Sahibs are not merely places of worship but also centres of humanitarian service, communal harmony and the dissemination of the Gurus’ timeless message of Sarbat da Bhala—the welfare of all. He said the century-long legacy of service rendered by Gowliguda Gurdwara Sahib would continue to inspire generations to come.
Kalka expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Telangana Sikh Society and the management committee of the Gurdwara Sahib for the affection, respect and warm welcome extended to him. He said the love and honour bestowed upon him by the sangat would always remain a cherished memory.
He said the efforts being undertaken by Sikh sangat living in different parts of the country to preserve and nurture their religious and cultural heritage are highly commendable. Such initiatives, he added, would further strengthen the bond of the younger generations with their roots and glorious Sikh heritage.
