New Delhi -The two-day 11th Delhi State Gatka Championship, organised by the Delhi Gatka Association at Bharti Public School, , was inaugurated here today by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka.
While addressing on the occasion, Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka lauded the remarkable skill, discipline and spirit displayed by the gatka players. He said that gatka is an integral part of sikh heritage and represents courage, self-discipline and the spirit of martial tradition. He added that such competitions not only connect the younger generation with sikh heritage but also help strengthen their confidence, sportsmanship and sense of discipline.
Kalka expressed his heartfelt gratitude to DSGMC member Sukhwinder Singh Babbar and Zorawar Singh for their valuable contribution towards the successful organisation of the championship and appreciated their dedicated efforts.
He also thanked the Delhi Gatka Association for its warm hospitality, affection and honour .
He also conveyed his best wishes to all the participating players for a successful championship.
