Chandigarh- Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said debate in the Vidhan Sabha must be based on facts and not falsehoods. If the Opposition wishes to raise any issue, it should place the facts before the House, he said, adding that the government is fully prepared to respond to every question on the basis of facts.

Referring to the Monsoon Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha scheduled for August 27 and 31 and September 1, the Chief Minister said it was natural for the Opposition to make statements questioning its duration. He said that during the Congress regime, Vidhan Sabha sessions used to last for just a few hours.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the Opposition has no issue left and is therefore raising questions over the duration of the session. He made it clear that the government will not shy away from debate in the House. Whatever questions the Opposition raises, the government is ready to respond, and every question will be answered.

The Chief Minister said the government is ready for discussion on all issues concerning public interest. The Opposition should place its views before the House and the government will respond. Meaningful debate is essential in a democracy, he said, adding that the government never shies away from discussion or answering questions.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the significance of a Vidhan Sabha session cannot be measured merely by its duration. What matters more is the quality of debate in the House and the seriousness of the issues taken up. He said the government will come to the House fully prepared and provide a factual response to every question raised by the Opposition.
