Law and order situation alarming in Punjab-Kewal Singh Dhillon

Chandigarh-Expressing grave concern over the rising criminal incidents in Punjab, senior Bharatiya Janata Party  leader Kewal Singh Dhillon today alleged that the state's law and order situation was deteriorating rapidly, leaving citizens, traders, and businessmen feeling increasingly insecure.
In a press statement issued here, Dhillon pointed out that incidents of shootings, daylight murders, robberies, and extortion calls were being reported almost on a daily basis across the state. "The audacity of gangsters and criminal elements has escalated to a point where fear of the law seems completely absent, " he said.
He noted that not a single day passed without a major crime taking place in some part of Punjab. According to him, this worsening atmosphere of panic was not only affecting common citizens but was also dealing a severe blow to the state’s economy and investment prospects.
Highlighting the recent firing incident outside the residence of former Akal Takht Jathedar Raghbir Singh, Dhillon said it posed a serious question mark on the government’s security setup. "When prominent religious personalities are not safe at their homes, how can common Punjabis feel secure?" he questioned.
Taking a dig at the ruling dispensation, the BJP leader accused the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government of ignoring the state's internal security while remaining busy catering to its political leadership in Delhi. "Punjab does not need hollow advertisements and verbal assurances; it requires strict, decisive, and effective governance on law and order, " Dhillon said, asserting that only a BJP government could deliver tough measures to curb crime in the state.
