Sri Amritsar-The first phase of the 'Miri Piri Khalsa March', which commenced from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on July 24, concluded late last night at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, after travelling across the Majha and Malwa regions of Punjab to promote Sikh values and delivering Qaumi (community) messages to the Sikh Sangat by the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj. The march concluded amid Khalsa grandeur and the participation of a large gathering of devotees. Upon its arrival at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, the Sangat welcomed the march with fireworks.
Throughout the Miri Piri Khalsa March, it received strong support from various Panthic organisations, Damdami Taksal, Nihang Singh Dals, and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). Sikh devotees also extended an enthusiastic welcome and participated in large numbers at every stop. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj thanked all those who contributed to the success of the march. He especially thanked SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, who participated enthusiastically in the Khalsa March every day and personally supervised all the arrangements. They also thanked Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Giani Tek Singh for his participations during the Khalsa March.
He said that despite extreme heat and heavy rainfall, the Sangat participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrating their devotion to Sri Guru Granth Sahib and their respect for Sri Akal Takht Sahib, which he described as truly inspiring.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said that the Miri Piri Khalsa March visited numerous villages, towns, and cities across Punjab, conveying messages to the Sikh community and the wider public. These included motivating young people to stay away from drugs, encouraging villages to socially boycott drug traffickers, inspiring people to strengthen their bond with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, abandon self-styled living godmen (Dehdhari Dams), and promote unity and mutual love among all.
He further said that the march appealed to Punjabis not to permanently leave Punjab, but to remain connected with their roots, refrain from selling their ancestral land, and instead strengthen themselves while living in Punjab. He also said that Punjabi families, especially Sikh families, were encouraged to have at least three children so that family ties remain strong and homes continue to flourish with close relationships.
The Jathedar added that the Khalsa Panth was also urged to remain vigilant against forces seeking to weaken Sikh institutions, interfere in the Gurdwara administration and Sikh religious affairs.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said the Khalsa March received an overwhelming response from Sikh youth, who displayed deep concern and awareness regarding Punjab and Sikh values. He described the Miri Piri Khalsa March as a significant milestone in the propagation of Sikhi.
He announced that the second phase of the Miri Piri Khalsa March will commence on August 23, 2026, from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib to Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib. Thereafter, another phase of the march will be organised from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
