Rajouri-Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, during his visit to Jammu, inaugurated the newly constructed building of a gurdwara at Bathuni village in the Rajouri area. The gurdwara has been built by the local sangat in memory of Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana.
On this occasion, a big religious congregation was jointly organized at Bathuni village under Khuar Hoye Sabh Milainge campaign by the Gurdwara Yaadgar Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana Ji Management Committee and the Sikh Naujawan Sabha Jammu & Kashmir, in which a large number of Sikh devotees from the region participated. During the event, the Hazoori Raagi Bhai Shaukeen Singh’s jatha from Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib performed soul-stirring kirtan, connecting the sangat with Gurbani.
Upon the arrival of Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj at Bathuni village on Sunday night, he was warmly welcomed by the sangat amid resounding Sikh slogans. He said that a significant Sikh population resides in this region. Recalling history, he said that during 1947–48, tribal attackers had invaded the area, and hundreds of Sikhs attained martyrdom while defending their land and faith.
He motivated the Sikh community of the area to live in unity and high spirits. He added that the Khalsa prays that wherever it resides, Akal Purakh may Himself protect it. Although Sikhs live in different parts of the world, they are one family. He also encouraged the sangat to support one another.
