New Delhi- The disappearance of a large number of children in the country, especially girls, has become a matter of great concern and it is becoming difficult to control it because in such cases, the children do not tell anything to the family. Revealing these things, Sardar Paramjit Singh Veerji, head of Gurubani Research Foundation, said that most of such cases are committed by grooming gangs. He said that earlier they targeted Hindu children, but due to their strictness, now Sikh children have become their target. He said that in this matter, he has written a letter to more than 300 different Singh Sabhas of Delhi and invited them to think deeply about this matter. He warned Sikh families that grooming gangs are criminals who exploit children or youth sexually or financially by gaining their trust. To prevent this, some measures are very important, including parents building a relationship with their children that they can share everything with you without any fear. Tell children that if someone makes them feel uncomfortable, they should tell you immediately. Keep an eye on children's social media activities. Make them aware of the dangers of befriending unknown people, as groomers often contact them through WhatsApp or Facebook. Especially if your child is suddenly bringing new clothes, expensive phones or unknown gifts, inquire about it from them. Girls going on study visas are especially targeted. Therefore, avoid being lured by financial help or jobs offered by them and always ask for the help of government-certified counselors. Teach children that only they have the right to their bodies. Teach them about 'good' and 'bad' touches. Groomers often ask children to keep things a secret. Therefore, it is important to explain to children that if an adult asks them to keep something a 'secret', that thing can never be right. It is very important to teach children that they can say 'no' to anything that they find strange, even if it is an adult. He said that an awareness campaign will soon be launched in this matter, through which Sikh families can be protected from such grooming gangs by showing them ways to avoid their children from becoming victims.
