Sri Amritsar-Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire Khalsa Panth on the arrival of the Sikh New Year, Nanakshahi Samvat 558.
He stated that in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the sequence of months and the beginning of the year starts with the month of Chet. He said that Gurbani teaches us that remembering Akal Purakh during the month of Chet brings immense spiritual bliss. Therefore, he urged that we should resolve to remain connected with the Gurbani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and live our lives according to its teachings.
On the occasion of the New Year, he also offered Ardas (Sikh prayer) before Akal Purakh for the release of all Bandi Singhs of the Sikh community. He further prayed that the entire community unite under one Nishan Sahib to resolve this issue.
