Chandigarh- Shiromani Akali Dal today slammed Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for using foul language against women folk and also strongly condemned lathi charge on students in Punjab University.
Addressing a press conference here today, SAD Chief Spokesman Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler said that it was highly condemnable that students had planned to organise a programme on Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji’s martyrdom day but the University administration chose to lathi charge them on the occasion. He said that such conduct was highly condemnable.
He said that SAD always advocated for democratic rights of the citizens and students have every right to organise their programme.
He also said that he was ashamed of language used by the Chief Minister Bhagant Mann against his erstwhile colleges and said that it was highly condemnable for him to use such a filthy language against his female colleagues. He said that language used by the CM suggests that he was least bothered for respect of female colleagues. He said that Sikh gurus have always respected women folk but our Chief Minister has forgotten this fact.
He also said that conditions imposed by the AAP government on disbursal of Rs. 1000 or Rs. 1500 per month for the women also speaks about discrimination set out by the government. He said that this government was never serious about helping women folk and announcement on women’s day about the scheme have proved it.
He also said that women have suffered the most during the 4 year term of the AAP government and Chief Minister himself and his ministers were responsible for the act.
