Amritsar-Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, held a special meeting today at Sri Akal Takht Sahib with preachers, dhadi and kavishars of the Dharam Parchar Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee , ahead of launching a religious preaching campaign dedicated to the 300th martyrdom anniversary of Bhai Tara Singh Ji Wan.
While speaking to the media, Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said that the SGPC has made extensive arrangements to commemorate the martyrdom centenary of Bhai Tara Singh Ji Wan. As part of these efforts, Nagar Kirtans from various villages will converge at village Wan in Tarn Taran district, where large-scale Gurmat religious programs will be organized from March 11 to March 14.
He further announced that as part of the 300th martyrdom anniversary events, a “Gursikha Iko Pyar Gurmita Puta Bhaiya” Khalsai March will be organized on March 9 under the patronage of Sri Akal Takht Sahib by the SGPC. The march will be held under the holy canopy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and led by the Panj Pyare.
This special Nagar Kirtan will commence at 9 am on March 9 from Sri Akal Takht Sahib and will pass through various villages before concluding at village Wan on March 11 after two overnight halts.
On the first day, March 9, the Nagar Kirtan will travel from Sri Akal Takht Sahib through Ghio Mandi, Bhandari Bridge, Chief Khalsa Diwan, Putlighar, Khalsa College, Guru Nanak Dev University, Khandwala, Gurdwara Cheharta Sahib, Guru Ki Wadali, Gamunwal, Kotli, Gurdwara Sannh Sahib, Dhand, Kasel and Mianpur before halting for the night at Gurdwara Bir Baba Buddha Sahib.
On the second day, March 10, the procession will pass through Baghiari Morh, Jhabal Adda, Panjwar, Gaggobua, Moose, Chhichhreval, Sur Singh, Singhpura and Bhikhiwind before stopping overnight at Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed, Pahuwind.
On the third day, March 11, the Nagar Kirtan will proceed through Darajke, Phel Wanke, Mari Udhoke and Mari Kamboke before reaching Gurdwara Shaheed Bhai Tara Singh Ji Wan in village Wan.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said that the purpose of this march is to connect Sikh youth with Sikhi and Sikh history, and to spread the true teachings of the Guru among those who may have moved away due to religious conversion. He urged the Sikh Sangat to extend maximum support and participation in the Nagar Kirtan.
