Amritsar-A theatrical presentation ‘Wo Afsana’, dedicated to International Mother Tongue Day, depicting life story of legendary writer Sahir Ludhianavi and poetess Amrita Pritam enthralled the audience at Khalsa University (KU) today. The Team Rabta from Delhi, created an evening filled with drama, music, and poetic expression, bringing out emotions and biographical narrations through a rare display of art of theatre.
The performance beautifully captured emotions and storytelling, leaving the audience deeply engaged. The cast Jaishree and Shamir, singer Shreeya and Rajesh impressed the audience with their gripping performance. The theme of the presentation was an unusual `love story’ of the two great poets and writers that blossomed from Lahore during their youthful years.
Chief Guest Rajinder Mohan Singh Ji Chhina, Pro Chancellor, KU applauded the biographical story through the theatre as it unraveled the mysterious relationship between the two legends. He said the aim of the presentation was to apprise the students of the varsity about the erstwhile philosophical lives of the writers and their writings.
KU Registrar Dr.Khushvinder Kumar earlier welcomed the guests and said it was an honour to host the renowned Rabta group at the campus. He added that such cultural initiatives reflect the University’s dedication to nurturing creativity, talent, and holistic development alongside academic excellence. He thanked the management, VC Dr. Mehal Singh, Dean academic Dr. Surinder Kaur, for their guidance and leadership to organize the program at large scale.
