Chandigarh– Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief spokesman Arshdeep Singh Kler today demanded an independent probe into the criminal conspiracy of the Punjab Police to save Delhi Leader of Opposition Atishi who is accused of making derogatory remarks against the Guru Sahiban by securing a false report from the Forensic Science Laboratory, Mohali at the instance of chief minister Bhagwant Mann.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Arshdeep Kler said it was shocking that the chief minister had decided to shield Atishi who had disrespected the Guru Sahiban instead of demanding action against her. “It is even more shocking that the Jalandhar police commissionerate was used to do this cover up by securing a report from the FSL, Mohali to state that the video in which Ms Atishi made the derogatory remarks was tampered with”.
Stating that this was the same laboratory which had given a clean chit to former minister Vijay Singla, Mr Kler said “now the lie of the Jalandhar Police has been nailed with the Delhi Speaker presenting a conclusive report to prove the video was genuine and not tampered with at all”. Demanding an independent probe into how a conspiracy was hatched to wipe out proof in the case of sacrilege against the Guru Sahiban, the Akali leader demanded the Punjab Police tell what jurisdiction it had in the matter as the incident occurred in Delhi.
Disclosing another serious development which flew in the face of the AAP government’s claims that it was doing its utmost to wipe out gangster raj, Mr Kler said the government had given a statement in a court in Mohali that it did not have any evidence against dreaded gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and that the latter should be discharged. He said the AAP government had earlier facilitated the transfer of Bhagwanpuria from Assam to Punjab during the Tarn Taran bypoll to influence the poll verdict. “This proves that the AAP government is in fact shaking hands with gangsters who have ruined Punjab and resulted in the flight of capital from the State”.
The SAD spokesman said it was condemnable that the government was on one hand shielding Atishi who was involved in sacrilege against the Guru Sahiban and shaking hands with gangsters while on the other hand it was playing politics and overreaching its authority to check ‘swaroops’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji at a religious institution in Banga. He said the government had earlier also defended sacrilege convict and Delhi legislator Naresh Yadav besides bending over backwards to transfer the cases of Gurmeet Ram Raheem out of Punjab. “All this proves that the AAP government has no interest in the welfare of Punjabis and is doing politics only to remain in power”.
