Srinagar, - S. Baldev Singh Raina, Chairman of the United Kashmiri Sikh Progressive Forum (UKSPF), along with the members of the Executive Committee and the entire Forum, extends heartfelt and reverential greetings to the global Sikh Sangat on the sacred and auspicious occasion of the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Tenth Nanak and revered Tenth Guru of the Sikhs.
This holy occasion marks the birth of a divine soul — a (warrior-saint), visionary leader, and eternal guide — whose life and teachings continue to illuminate the path of righteousness, justice, and human dignity. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s unparalleled courage, spiritual wisdom, and supreme sacrifices forever shaped the destiny of the Sikh faith and humanity at large.
Reflecting upon the Guru’s monumental contributions, the UKSPF recalls the historic establishment of the Khalsa Panth in 1699, the bestowal of a distinct Sikh identity through Amrit, the declaration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as the Eternal Guru, and the embodiment of the timeless ideal of Sant-Sipahi (Saint-Soldier). His teachings inspire unwavering resistance against oppression and uphold the universal values of equality, freedom, and justice.
On this sacred day, the UKSPF calls upon the Sikh Sangat to reaffirm and practice the Guru’s core principles of Seva (selfless service), Simran (remembrance of the Divine), and Sarbat da Bhala (welfare of all humanity). The Forum encourages devotees to actively participate in Nagar Kirtans, Gurdwara programmes, and Akhand Path Sahibs being organized across the region and worldwide.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman S. Baldev Singh Raina Ji stated:
“Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s legacy is not confined to history; it is a living force that continues to guide and inspire us. On this Parkash Purab, let us renew our commitment to the values he upheld — courage blended with compassion, faith reinforced by action, and an unwavering devotion to truth and justice. May the Guru’s blessings bring peace, wisdom, and strength to every home.”
The United Kashmiri Sikh Progressive Forum prays that this auspicious occasion strengthens unity, deepens faith, and rekindles the collective resolve to walk on the righteous path shown by Dasmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
