Mining Mafia Fearless, Administration Silent-Bharatiya Janata Party

Kaumimarg Bureau | December 22, 2025 08:51 PM

Mohali -Vineet Joshi, State Media Head of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Punjab, today strongly condemned the unabated illegal mining at Khizrabad village in Block Majri, Tehsil Kharar, District Mohali, and questioned the continued silence of Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Mann for over three and a half years.

Joshi stated that on December 21, 2025, he revisited the same illegal mining site he had exposed earlier on November 8, 2025. “What I witnessed is nothing short of criminal governance. Despite the registration of an FIR by the Mohali Mining Department, illegal mining continues openly and on an even larger scale, ” he said.

He revealed that the area under excavation has expanded further, clearly proving that the mining mafia is operating with complete confidence and protection. “I possess dated photographs and videos from both visits that conclusively establish that government action exists only on paper, ” Joshi added.

Raising pointed questions, Joshi asked why the local MLA has maintained complete silence despite repeated exposure and official acknowledgment of illegal mining. “If the MLA is unaware, it reflects shocking incompetence. If she is aware and still silent, it raises far more serious questions, ” he said.

Villagers have openly stated that large sums of money are being collected and distributed to ensure silence and protection. “In such circumstances, the public has the right to ask: is the MLA merely a mute spectator, or is her silence politically benefiting someone?” Joshi questioned, clarifying that the BJP is demanding answers and an independent inquiry, not making allegations.

He alleged that the entire administrative and policing machinery—from SHOs to SSP level officers, from Tehsildar and SDM Kharar to DC Mohali, and district mining officials—has either turned a blind eye or become complicit.

“This is not negligence; this is institutionalised corruption under the Aam Aadmi Party government, ” Joshi said.
The BJP demands immediate suspension of responsible officers, a time-bound independent inquiry, and strict criminal action against all officials and political patrons involved. “Punjab will not be allowed to be reduced to a free-for-all mining zone under corrupt political protection, ” he warned.
