Sri Anandpur Sahib- The grand Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru Hindi Di Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji that began from Srinagar on Nov 19 with Khalsa fervor and enthusiasm from Gurdwara Patshahi Chhevin, concluded today upon reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib.
At Sri Anandpur Sahib, Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. accorded a floral welcome to the Nagar Kirtan.
The beautifully decorated Palki Sahib (palanguin) carrying the eternal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji under the canopy of divine grace, led by the Panj Pyare and Nishan Sahib, was warmly received by the Rupnagar district administration and devotees upon its arrival at the birthplace of the Khalsa - Sri Anandpur Sahib.
On this occasion, the Ministers presented siropas to the Panj Pyare Sahibaan and the Panj Nishaanchi Sahibaan participating in the Nagar Kirtan.
After paying obeisance at Takhth Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. respectfully installed the sacred form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj at Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib.
Sant Baba Sewa Singh of Rampur Khera, along with Bhupinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Davinder Singh, Bahadur Singh and other organizations and sects, extended full cooperation in this religious procession from Srinagar to Sri Anandpur Sahib.
The youth of Bhai Bachittar Singh Gatka Akhara of Hathur showcased their martial art skills throughout the 544-kilometer route under the guidance of Ustad Harpreet Singh. Upon arrival at Takhth Sri Kesgarh Sahib, they also exhibited magnificent martial art - Gatka. Also Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh Ji Taruna Dal leader Baba Singh Sahib and Baba Gurdev Singh rendered remarkable service during the event.
Devotees warmly welcomed the Nagar Kirtan at every village and town enroute. The procession began on November 22, 2025, from Gurdwara Sri Rampur Khera, taking nearly 15 hours to cover a distance of 25 kilometers to Hoshiarpur. Langars (community meals) were organized at various points by devotees to serve participants.
Significantly, organized with the support of the Sikh community, this grand Nagar Kirtan was initiated by the Government of Punjab on November 19 from Srinagar. The procession passed through Jammu, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Garhshankar and Jajj Chowk, before concluding reverently at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
