Chandigarh-The Punjab Congress today staged a powerful protest outside the Election Commission office in Chandigarh, accusing the BJP government of indulging in large-scale vote chori (vote theft) with the active support of the Election Commission. Senior Congress leaders and workers from across Punjab joined the demonstration, raising slogans against the Modi government and the Election Commission, demanding accountability for the systematic manipulation of democratic institutions.

Addressing the media, Congress leaders said that once again yesterday, Shri Rahul Gandhi had exposed how the BJP, in collusion with the Election Commission, manipulated the electoral process to subvert the will of the people. They said Rahul Gandhi’s revelations in the “H-Files” have made it clear that the BJP rigged and stole the Haryana Assembly elections through a planned conspiracy.

Rahul Gandhi, while presenting the “H-Files”, revealed shocking details of how over 25 lakh fake votes—nearly 12.5% of Haryana’s total electorate—were added or manipulated to tilt the result in BJP’s favour. He showed evidence of a woman’s name appearing 223 times across two polling booths in Dhakola village and even the photo of a Brazilian model being used 22 times under different names across 10 booths.

He further revealed that the Election Commission had discontinued its de-duplication software, which was earlier used to detect duplicate and photo-similar entries, thereby allowing fake voters to remain on the rolls. Rahul Gandhi also pointed out that around 3.5 lakh voters were deleted before the polls—most of them believed to be Congress supporters—demonstrating targeted manipulation.

The Congress leader also drew attention to the highly irregular postal ballot pattern, where Congress received 73 seats and BJP only 17 in postal votes, indicating clear tampering after counting. He said these facts collectively prove that the BJP, with the complicity of the Election Commission, “stole the Haryana Assembly elections” and undermined democracy.

Punjab Congress leaders stated that this blatant vote chori is not just an attack on democracy but also a betrayal of every Indian voter who believes in free and fair elections. They demanded an immediate judicial inquiry into the role of the Election Commission and strict action against BJP leaders involved in this electoral fraud.

They further asserted that Congress workers across the country would continue their protests until the sanctity of the democratic process is restored and those responsible for this conspiracy against democracy are brought to justice.

Prominent leaders present during the protest included Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bobby ( convener RGPRS), S. Kuljit Singh Bedi (Deputy Mayor, Mohali), S. Ranjit Singh Jeeti Padiyal, S. Karanbir Singh Ruby Sidhu (son of former minister S. Balbir Singh Sidhu), Mr. Happy Khehra (PPCC Office), Mr. Vipin Sharma, Mr. Amit (Dera Bassi), Mr. Gian Singh, Mr. Jung Bahadur (former Chairman, SC Department), Mr. Ramandeep Narula, Mr. Jatinder Kumar (former NSUI President), and Mr. Aman Dhaipi.
