Tarn Taran- Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal today appealed to women to teach a befitting lesson to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for cheating them by making false promises to give them an allowance of Rs 1, 000 per month.

Addressing a few well attended public gatherings in favour of SAD candidate Principal Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa, the Bathinda MP said “women played a major role in ensuring the victory of AAP in the 2022 assembly elections. They were promised an allowance of Rs 1, 000 per month. AAP has been in government for nearly four years now. It owes Rs 45, 000 to each woman in the State. I appeal to all the women to ask AAP representatives to first deposit this money in their accounts before seeking their votes in the Tarn Taran by poll”.

Mrs Harsimrat Badal also unleashed a scathing attack on AAP of following anti - farmer policies. “I challenge the party to tell one thing it had done for the betterment of farmers”. She said instead of doing anything for farmers, the AAP government had denied compensation for crop damage during the recent floods and had failed to relax norms for smooth procurement of paddy in Mandis across the State. She said in direct contrast former chief minister S Parkash Singh Badal had waived off tubewell bills besides establishing Mandis, and focal points and laying down a network of link roads to give a boost to the rural economy.

Speaking about the false promises and publicity stunts of chief minister Bhagwant Mann, the Bathinda MP said “the chief minister promised to establish a medical college in Sangrur four years back. Today its foundation stone has also been uprooted”. She said similarly during the Gidderbaha by-election the chief minister promised to establish a new canal in the Malwa region but did nothing to make it a reality. She also recounted how Bhagwant Mann had fooled the people of Jalandhar during a by-election there by asserting that he would stay in the city and even renovated a house at a cost of crores of rupees. “Now he will make more false promises in Tarn Taran. I appeal to you not to believe him as this government will not do anything for you. It is necessary to give a jolt to this government by electing Principal Randhawa to the State assembly”.

Mrs Badal also spoke on how the SAD had given the party ticket to a Dharmi Fauji family and appealed to the quom to show solidarity with the family. She also spoke on how the Congress had also betrayed Punjabis earlier by refusing to waive off farmer loans and stressed on the need to support their own regional party which had always fought for the rights of the State.

Senior leaders present on the occasion included District President of Tarn Taran constituency Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke, Gauravdeep Singh Valtoha, Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Joginder Singh Jindu, Sanjit Singh Sunny Gill, Gurtej Ghuriana, Tirath Singh Mahla, Sarabjit Singh Jhijar, Ravinder Khera & Akashdeep Singh Middukhera.
