Chandigarh - The new academic session began at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26. Staff and students gathered on August 21, 2025 to celebrate the college’s inaugural day and orientation program. It began like every time with Sehaj Path and Gurbani Kirtan. The college administrators informed the new students about this religious tradition of the college. The new academic session began with the students of the college singing Gurbani Kirtan, which made the atmosphere of the college spiritual.
Organized under the guidance of Ms. Sukhmeen Kaur and Dr. Surinder Kaur, the program began with a serene Shabad Kirtan by Baljit Kaur of B.Com I, accompanied by Tabla Instructor Sardar Hargeet Singh and his team. This was followed by the commencement of the Sehaj Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which will continue throughout the academic session with active involvement of both staff and students.
Dr. Savneet Kaur addressed the gathering and highlighted the tradition of the college to begin each new academic session with the Sehaj Path, emphasizing its spiritual and cultural significance for the institution.
An orientation session for the newly admitted students was also conducted . Dr. Harneet Kaur briefed the students about the New Education Policy and its integration into the college curriculum, along with the rules and regulations of the institution.
The event concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, who warmly welcomed the new students and encouraged them to pursue their academic journey with dedication and enthusiasm
