Chandigarh-Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon the Senior Punjab Good Governance Fellows to serve as a crucial bridge in ensuring the benefits of the state government’s flagship schemes reach the grassroots. Speaking at an interactive session with the fellows today, Mann emphasized the importance of their role in connecting government initiatives with the people.
The Chief Minister highlighted that these fellows have been recruited to work across departments and will support key programs such as the Punjab Mukh Mantri Nishulk Tirath Yatra Yojana, Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana, Yudh Nashian Virudh, Aam Aadmi Clinics, and Schools of Eminence. Mann expressed confidence that their fresh perspectives, analytical abilities, and dedication will enhance service delivery and governance outcomes through innovative execution and genuine engagement with citizens.
He urged the fellows to establish direct contact with communities to gain firsthand understanding of ground realities, facilitating smooth and effective implementation of schemes. Mann assured them of the state government’s full support and freedom to engage personally with people, noting their educational backgrounds from IITs and IIMs equip them well to be valuable assets in governance reform.
Highlighting the importance of innovation, the Chief Minister stressed that new ideas often emerge from brainstorming by just a few individuals, and encouraged the fellows to bring such creativity into their work. He called on them to bridge the communication gap between citizens and government and to provide accurate on-the-ground feedback to strengthen decision-making processes.
Mann underscored the power of a positive mindset, urging the fellows to foster optimism both in outlook and actions. He cited his government’s commitment to prudent fiscal management and rebutted past claims that Punjab’s finances were depleted, emphasizing that every rupee is now invested toward the state’s progress and prosperity.
The Chief Minister lamented that previous administrations ignored positivity, contributing to youth migration abroad. Mann championed innovation and empowering the common man, reaffirming the government’s openness to new ideas that accelerate industrial growth and youth entrepreneurship, pledging relentless efforts to support such initiatives.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora welcomed the dignitaries at the event.
This session marks a strong commitment by Punjab’s leadership to nurture innovative governance focused on inclusive development and citizen engagement.
