Sri Amritsar-For the past five days, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has been receiving threatening emails regarding Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. In response, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, Officiating Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, has called upon the Punjab and Centre Governments investigative agencies to immediately identify and publicly expose the person behind this vile act before the Khalsa Panth.

He referred to reports of Punjab Police detaining a suspect named Shubham Dubey from Faridabad for questioning, expressing concern that despite modern technology era and the availability of all necessary resources with the Government, the actual culprit has still not been definitively identified.

Jathedar Gargajj emphasized that Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib is the one and only sacred and blessed place in the world that continuously teaches the message of universal brotherhood and offers daily prayers for the welfare of all. He noted that the this religious place’s four doors remain open to all of humanity and that thousands of devotees from across India and abroad pay obeisance in reverence here every day.

He acknowledged that the threatening emails have caused concern among the Sikh community, but stated that despite this, large numbers of Sangat continue to visit Sri Harmandar Sahib daily without fear. He questioned why such threatening emails are repeatedly being sent to the spiritual center and what the underlying motive might be — emphasizing the need for an in-depth investigation.

He further stated that even after the police claimed to have detained a suspect, another email was received today. That the real culprit remains unidentified after five days raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of the government’s investigation and actions. He questioned whether the intention behind these emails is to instill fear and panic among Sikhs and reduce the number of devotees visiting Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib.

Jathedar Gargajj asserted that the motives of those responsible must be exposed, and it is the duty of both state and central investigative agencies to do so. He also appealed to the Sikh community to continue visiting Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib without fear, as they always have. Addressing the perpetrators, the Jathedar stated that fear is not in the nature of Sikhs and that such cowardly actions will not deter the Sangat from coming to this sacred place. Even during times of bans and persecution, Sikhs have never stopped paying obeisance and taking holy dips at this sacred place. General Manager of Sri Harmandar Sahib Bhagwant Singh Dhangera was also present on this occasion.
