Chandigarh- The Punjab Government announced on Saturday the regularization of jobs for 378 contractual employees of the Forest Department. For years, these employees have been working underpaid and without benefits. Today’s decision is a significant relief and joyous news for all these employees.
Forest Minister Lalchand Kataruchakk congratulated all the employees and stated that in the last cabinet meeting, a decision was made to regularize 378 daily-wage employees of the Forest Department. “It gives me immense pleasure to make this announcement today, ” said the Minister.
Blaming traditional parties for the delay, Minister Kataruchakk said that the anti-employment and anti-employee stance of the previous Akali-BJP and Congress governments prevented the regularization of these employees. However, due to the efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, we have regularized their services today. The Minister further informed that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will hand over appointment letters to all employees in the coming days.
Kataruchakk said that under the guidance of party convener Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been handing over government job appointment letters daily to new recruits in various departments across Punjab. So far, the government has provided over 50, 000 youth with government jobs. This is the first government to provide such a large number of government jobs to the youth of Punjab.
Kataruchakk expressed hope that the regularization of these employees will bring a new energy to the Forest Department. These employees will work with dedication and harder to take the department to greater heights. This decision will also inspire hope among contractual employees in other departments.
