Panjab Digital Library Hosts Exhibition on Perspectives of the Sikh Raj by International Artists

Chandigarh – The Panjab Digital Library  is proud to announce the successful first day of its exhibition titled "The Sikh Empire: Perspectives of International Artists and Authors", featuring the works of notable artists and authors such as Emily Eden and George Forster. This exhibition, curated by a diverse group of nine students from the USA and India, offers a unique perspective on the Sikh Raj from 1710 to 1849.

 The exhibition opened with interactions involving over 400 visitors and included the presence of a distinguished guest, Caroline Rowett, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Chandigarh.

Bani Kaur, Gani Kaur, Ilahe Kaur, Rubbi Singh, Gurshaan Singh, Jagga Singh and Jodha Singh, from the US and Amitoj Singh, and Bilaval Kaur, from Panjab.

 These students, under the curatorial guidance of the Panjab Digital Library team including Davinder Singh, Geetanjali, Dalveer Singh, Gurpreet Kaur and Harliv Kaur have worked diligently to bring this exhibition to life. Their efforts aim to showcase how the Sikh Raj and Panjab were perceived by foreign artists and authors, shedding light on the rich historical narrative of the region.
