NEW DELHI-Delhi Akali chief Paramjit Singh Sarna expressed concern over recent remarks made by the Prime Minister of the world’s most populous and diverse country, urging for a more inclusive approach akin to the spirit of India's independence movement, which saw participation from all communities in liberating the subcontinent from colonial rule.
"The language employed doesn't reflect the ethos of leadership in a country known for its diversity and democratic values, " noted Sarna. "It's imperative for a leader of such a great civilization to embrace a stance that unifies rather than divides.”
Sarna emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of inclusivity, as exemplified by the Constitution of India.
"While we understand the complexities of political messaging, it's crucial to ensure that every citizen feels valued and included, " Sarna added. "We hope for a course correction that fosters unity and progress for all."
