Mayor Mohali Inaugurates Renovation of Phase-7 Community Centre

Mohali-Mayor, Amarjit Singh Sidhu inaugurated the renovation work of the Phase-7 Community Centre falling under Ward 10. The ceremony saw the unveiling of ambitious plans to transform the community centre into a modern hub for social gatherings, surpassing the standards of conventional wedding palaces. The project is estimated to cost more than Rs. 32 lakh, with the possibility of the estimate increasing as the work progresses. However, Mayor assured that despite financial constraints, the Municipal Corporation is committed to delivering excellence in community infrastructure.

Mayor Mohali emphasized the commitment to elevate the community centres to a level where they become preferred venues for social events. "Our aim is to surpass the standards of conventional wedding palaces and offer our residents facilities that exceed expectations, " Mayor added. Mayor Sidhu emphasized that despite facing financial constraints, our Municipal Corporation is outperforming Chandigarh in numerous aspects.

He further highlighted the renovation plan includes several key enhancements such as Installation of new air conditioning units, Installation of dedicated solar system to promote sustainable energy usage, Introduction of soundproofing measures for walls and windows to mitigate noise disturbances during events, Upgrading of flooring and addition of new rooms to match the ambiance of wedding palaces, Modernization of washrooms, Complete facelift to give the community centre a contemporary look along with Installation of large gates for grand guest entrances.

Furthermore, Mayor announced plans to make the community centre available free of cost for bhog/final prayer meets, underscoring the commitment to serving the needs of the community.

The renovation work is expected to be completed within two months, after which the Phase-7 Community Centre will be ready to host a variety of social gatherings. Mayor expressed confidence that the ultra-modern facilities at the community centre would serve as a benchmark for other Municipal Corporations to emulate.
