Sindhi society is an integral part of the Sikh religion-Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib

Amritsar-A large number of devotees participated in the Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) at Indore, Madhya Pradesh with the support of Amrit Vela Trust. Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, chairman of SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee (DPC) Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, and DPC secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan and other prominent personalities specially attended the congregation.

Addressing the congregation, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh said that Sindhi society is an integral part of the Sikh religion. It has great respect in the community that will always remain so.

He said that the Gurbani (holy writings) of the Gurus teaches universal communion, but efforts were made by some people to create differences between the Sindhis and Sikhs, which will not be allowed to succeed.

Meanwhile, Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta and Balwinder Singh Kahlwan said in their address that the tactics of mischievous people to divide society will not succeed. They said that the SGPC will continue to organize such events to keep Sindhi society connected with the Sikh religion.

Bhai Gurpreet Singh (Rinku Veer), a prominent Kirtaniya, appealed to the congregation to follow the path shown by the Sikh Gurus while performing Gurbani Kirtan. A large number of Sangat from the Sindhi community participated in the congregation. Bhai Tejinderpal Singh managed the stage. Present in the congregation included Baba Ghola Singh Kar Sewa Sarhali Sahib, President of Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Indore Manjit Singh Bhatia, President of Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh Kendri Sri Guru Singh Sabha Harpal Singh, Balwinder Singh Timma, Naresh Makhija.
