Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji celebrated with devotion at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) with the support of Sabha Societies and Sangat today celebrated the Prakash Purb (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji, the fourth Sikh Guru, with devotion and reverence at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. On this occasion, bhog (concluding ceremony) of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, after which, prominent raagis, dhadis and kavishars connected the Sangat with the Guru's praise. Lakhs of Sangat expressed their devotion after paying obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib. On this occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and different prominent personalities attended the congregations and expressed their devotion.

Dedicated to Prakash Purb, beautiful jalau (grandeur) were decorated at Sri Harmandar Sahib, Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib, which became the center of attraction for the Sangat. Different Sabha Societies and organised langars dedicated to Prakash Purb.

During the Prakash Purb, while doing katha (discourse) from Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib, eminent Sikh preacher Bhai Pinderpal Singh shared the life and ideology of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji with the Sangat. He said that the life of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji is a guide for humanity and living as per his teachings, life can be made happy. Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami also congratulated the Sangat on Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji.

During the Kavi Darbar, Panthic poets presented poems about the life of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji. Dedicated to Prakash Purb, the SGPC organised different religious competitions in different schools in the past days and the students who secured positions were honoured.

Earlier, last night, Raag Darbar and Padtal Shabd Gayan Kirtan Samagam was organised at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, in which the raagis jathas sang verses from Gurbani of Sri Guru Ramdas Ji.
