Rahul Gandhi paid obeisance at Golden Temple along with Congress candidates

AMRITSAR: Congress leader Mr Rahul Gandhi today paid obeisance at Golden Temple. and Prayed with Congress candidates for the future of Punjab at Harmandir Sahib.

Earlier, Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, party's state unit chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and deputy chief ministers Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni received Gandhi at Amritsar airport on his arrival from Delhi.

They also accompanied him to the Golden Temple. He was also accompanied by the 109 Congress poll candidates.

This is Gandhi's first visit to Punjab since the Election Commission extended the ban on physical rallies and road shows till 31 January in the five poll-going

After Amritsar, Rahul Gandhi left for Jalandhar, by road, where he will address a virtual public meeting called 'Navi Soch-Nava Punjab' (Nai Soch-Naya Punjab).

The Election Commission has extended the ban on physical rallies and roadshows till January 31. In such a situation, all eyes will be on the address of the former Congress president at the virtual rally in Jalandhar, from where Rahul Gandhi will give direction to the party's campaign.

He also paid tributes to martyrs at historical Jallianwala Bagh.and he also visited Durgiana Mandir and Ram Tirth Mandir.
