An honorary function was organized at Gulzar Group of Institutes for Indian hockey team captain Manpreet Singh, Harmandeep Singh vice-captain, midfielder Hardik Singh and Gurjant Singh who visited the college campus today . Students and residents attended the function at the moment. On this occasion, the principal of BCM school Dr. Paramjit Kaur and renowned motivational speaker Gaurav Deep Singh were special guests. All the hockey players were honored by the management on the occasion. Captain Manpreet Singh and his team members shared their thoughts on winning the medal at the Olympics and informed that it was the most important moment for them when the Indian hockey team won the medal at the Olympics after forty-one years . He further informed that there was much pressure on his team to win the medal, and the team won through teamwork. During the happy moments after the team's victory, he said that he had forgotten the whole world for some time i. He said that his next goal is to win the gold medal in Paris as the hockey team will be giving its performance. They later interacted with budding players and at the college and urged them to start their every day with a positive attitude and remain optimistic to face the challenges. Principal of BCM school Dr. Paramjit Kaur and renowned motivational speaker Gaurav Deep Singh lauded the college management for providing all essential infrastructure for sports.
On the occasion, Gurkirat Singh, Executive Director, Gulzar Group, congratulated the entire team on their victory and said that it was a matter of pride for us to have eleven players from Punjab alone in the Indian hockey team participating in the Olympics. Gurkirat Singh, Executive Director, also announced a scholarship of Rs. 1 crore for the players. He further added that Gulzar Group's students have played at the university and national level in sports and in the future students will be honored with the scholarship for bringing the medals at the university and national level in sports. At the same time, expenditure will be incurred on the modernization of playgrounds in the future.
