Dewan, who is doing extensive door-to-door campaigning for the Tarn Taran by-election from past several days said, “During interaction with the people from all sections of the society, it has transpired that people are extremely annoyed with the current dispensation. Be it women, senior citizens, unemployed and students, everyone is criticizing the AAP regime for its miserable failure on all fronts.”
Campaigning along with Ward Number 3 Incharge Sukhdev Singh Bundi, Dewan conducted electioneering in support of Congress candidate Karanbir Singh Burj. He was accompanied with Ex-MLA Tarlochan Singh Soondh, Ex-Chairman, Planning Board SBS Nagar Satvir Singh Palijikki and senior leader, Punjab Congress Sarita Sharma. During the campaign, the leaders met residents of Ward Number 3 and appealed for their support for the Congress candidate. “Vote for progress, development and people’s welfare”, Dewan urged the electorate, while adding that Congress campaign is receiving an overwhelming response from local masses.
Dewan said that present AAP regime law and order has deteriorated extremely in the state besides the dwindling economy. “The government is making false claims on making Punjab drug free whereas in reality the curse of drugs is still rampant”, he said, while adding that corruption has increased manifold and the entire state is suffering because of the “personal agenda” of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. “The Congress will not just win this by-poll but it is writing on the wall that Congress is all set to form the next government with a large mandate”, he asserted.
