Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in support of the Sabha Societies and the Sangat will organise Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) on January 26 and 27 at Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Sahib, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh, the great warrior of the Sikh Qaum (community).
Sri Akhand Path Sahib was commenced in this regard at the Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Sahib.
Giving the information, SGPC assistant secretary media S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said that the birth anniversary of Baba Deep Singh Ji will be celebrated like every year at Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Deep Singh.
He said Sri Akhand Path Sahib commenced today on January 25 and the bhog (culmination) will be conducted on January 27. A Nagar Kirtan will be decorated and carried out to celebrate the birth anniversary of Baba Deep Singh Ji from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on January 26.
The Nagar Kirtan will start at 12 noon and reach Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Deep Singh following its route from Sri Akal Takht Sahib to Sri Guru Ramdas Niwas, Braham Boota Market, Mahna Singh Road, Jallianwala Bagh, Lakkar Mandi Bazaar, Sultanwind Gate, Water Tank, Swaran House, Golden Cloth Market, Sultanwind Road, Tej Nagar Chowk, Bazaar Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, Bazaar Kot Mahna Singh, Tarn Taran road, and Chatiwind Gate.
Amrit Sanchar will be conducted in the morning at 9 am on January 27.
S. Ramdas said that Singh Sahibans, prominent raagis, dhaadis (balladeers), and kathawachaks (narrators) will attend the Gurmat Samagam to commence from 4 pm onwards on January 27.
