SAD (Sanyukt) delegation meets Union Home Minister raises several pivotal issues related to Panth and Punjab

A delegation of senior party leaders led by Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) President and Rajya Sabha Member, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa called on Union Home Minister, Mr. Amit Shah on last Thursday and discussed various important issues related to Panth and Punjab.

During the meeting, several important demands were discussed in detail. Meanwhile, on the demand letter given by the party, Mr. Amit Shah assured to positively look all the demands raised by the party delegation. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister, Sh. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also remained present in the meeting.

The party delegation included, S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Mr. Ranjit Singh Talwandi, Justice Nirmal Singh (Retd.), Mr. Jagdish Singh Garcha, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, Mr. Manjit Singh Bapiana, Mr. Sukhwant Singh Sarao and Mr. Harpreet Singh Bunny Jolly.

Later divulging the details reading the meeting with the Union Home Minister, the senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt), MLA and former Finance Minister, S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that during the meeting several pivotal issues including releasing of imprisoned sikhs who have completed their sentences in jails was raised.

“The party has handed over a list of the release of 20 prisoners to the Union Home Minister and the Home Minister had given assurance to provide all possible help within the legal purview. Besides this, the party also demanded debt waiver and economic package for the farmers and farm labourers of Punjab, ” shared S. Dhindsa.

S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that during the meeting with the Home Minister emphasis was laid on making massive efforts to boost the industry in Punjab. In which a similar package was demanded on the lines of Jammu and Kashmir.

S. Dhindsa said that Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) had met Union Home Minister to resolve the long pending issues of Panth and Punjab. In which the Home Minister assured a solution after considering the above demands.

“People of Punjab, especially Sikhs had made an immense contribution for the liberation of the country by making great sacrifices but the governments of the time did not appreciate the supreme sacrifices made by Punjabis and Sikhs, ” asserted S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa.

He said that the Union Government should resolve the Panthic issues for which the Shiromani Akali Dal has been fighting for a long time. Of these, the release of Singhs who are imprisoned, in particular, is the major demand.

S. Dhindsa said that the damage done by the Congress government to the Sikhs and Punjab at the Center and in Punjab could never be forgotten.

“The BJP government would heal the wounds inflicted by the Congress governments by accepting the age-old demands of the Sikhs, ” hoped S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa.
