International Gita Mahotsava - 2020 commenced in Kurukshetra

Chandigarh, The International Gita Mahotsava - 2020 commenced in Kurukshetra, Haryana with the chanting of mantras and blowing of the conch.
The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Jai Ram Thakur, Haryana Tourism and Education Minister Mr. Kanwar Pal, Member of Parliament, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini, MLA Mr. Subhash Sudha, Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji, Swami Shankaracharya Lokesh Muni duly inaugurated the Gita Mahotsava -2020 starting from December 21 to December 25 while worshiping the holy scripture Gita and taking a sip of the holy water of Brahmasarovar.
The main attraction of the festival will be global chanting of Gita Shlokas by 55, 000 students, International Gita Webinar, Sant Sammelan, Maha Aarati of Brahmasarovar etc. For this, adequate security and other arrangements have been made by the Administration and the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB).
Secretary to the Governor and Member Secretary of KDB, Mrs. G. Anupama said that due to COVID-19, the festival's programmes are being broadcast live through virtual, online and social media platforms.
