Web lecture on “Webinar Etiquettes: Some Observations and Suggestions”

Chandigarh-A.C. Joshi Library, Panjab University, Chandigarh, looking on the importance of the webinars as new normal of academic collaboration, has successfully organized a web lecture on the topic “Webinar Etiquettes: Some Observations and Suggestions” on July 10, 2020. The speaker of this lecture was Prof. Preeti Mahajan, Chairperson, Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Prof. Mahajan has an experience of organizing more than 20 webinars during this COVID-19 pandemic. She shared her experiences on etiquettes at the end of presenter, attendees, solutions due to technical breakdowns and other important aspects related to webinars. Her suggestions have been well taken by the participants.
Dr. Jivesh Bansal, University Librarian, in his inaugural remarks, stressed on the quality aspect of webinars. He highlighted that we should accept the changes with time and find new solutions with technology without compromising quality. The webinar was attended by approx. 200 participants which includes many faculty members, research scholars and students. There was a healthy discussion by some eminent attendees on the topic.
